Vermont Energy Investment Corporation Statewide Energy Modeling

Back

Statewide Total Energy Demand (2010-2050)

VEIC modeling for the state of Vermont shows a 35% decrease in total energy demand from 2010 to 2050. Most of the decrease reflects a decline in gasoline, oil, and diesel fuel consumption. Electricity demand is estimated to increase 79%.

Statewide Energy Demand by Sector (2010-2050)

Energy demand viewed by sector allows us to see where decreases in nonrenewable energy consumption and increases in renewable energy consumption are expected to place. For example, a decrease in demand for oil is predicted to take place mainly in the Residential and Commercial sectors. A decrease in demand for gasoline is predicted to take place solely within the Transportation sector.
