These graphs rely on the best available official data sources, including: i) Efficiency Vermont, for electricity data; ii) US Energy information Agency (EIA) for energy use across sectors and fuel types; iii) Vermont Agency of Transportation (VTRANS) for VMT and average fuel economies; and iv) US Census for population and other demographic information.
The Dashboard provides directionally correct projections based on best available information. To estimate the 90% by 2050 projections, it draws on energy scenario work contained in Vermont's 2016 Comprehensive Energy Plan, modeling by VEIC using the Long-Range Energy Assessment Planning (LEAP) tool, and EAN's 2050 Energy Pathways analysis. Note that these statistics are pre-Renewable Energy Credits (RECs) and do not reflect RECs transferred to a utility or sold out of state. As this information is made public, it will be included.
